Volunteer Opportunities with Culture Creations

  • Village Elder

    The Village Elder fosters engagement and community within the Caterpillar to Butterflies Peer Circles program. These volunteers will actively participate in the activities alongside the Culture Creations Students to encourage engagement and relationships. Each Village Elder will have 1-3 Culture Creation Students assigned to them in their designated classes and is responsible for looking after, providing support, and advocating for their youth.

    Village Elder Location/Time Options:

    Culture Creations Wellness Club:

    Every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 1 pm-3 pm, Wichita

    Culture Creations Boxing Club:

    Last week of the Month on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 1 pm-3 pm, Wichita

    Culture Creations Krav Maga Club:

    Last Wednesday of the Month- 5 pm - 6:30 pm

    Culture Creations Yoga Club:

    First Wednesday of the Month- 1 pm - 2 pm, Wichita

    Caterpillar to Butterflies Peer Circles:

    Tuesdays - 7 pm-8:30 pm, Wichita

    Thursdays - 7 pm-8:30 pm, Wichita

    Hair Laid! Hair Slayed! Stylists and Barbers:

    Once a month on the third Saturday or Sunday - 8 am - 8 pm, Wichita

  • "It Takes A Village" Team

    The purpose of the Culture Creations Inc “It Takes A Village” Team is to provide ongoing support for Culture Creations programming, events, and general administrative duties to ensure adequate community support for students. Examples of duties are: assisting with class admin duties, general administrative tasks (i.e., assisting in organizing storage unit/classrooms, helping stuff envelopes, etc.), and setting up for events (day of).

    Time Commitment: Average 3 hrs monthly

    It would be best if you were 20+ to volunteer.

  • Historian

    The Historian is responsible for capturing photos, video, and other visual content of all Culture Creations Inc programming and events to adequately and appropriately keep a record of program highlights, successes, and progress. Additionally, this volunteer is responsible for keeping all youth identities secure and handling all sensitive information with immense care.

    Time Commitment: Minimum 5 hours a month.
